I support people to gently reconnect with their body, mind, and spirit through trauma-informed, somatic therapy, so they can reclaim a sense of wholeness, because healing doesn’t happen in isolation and we all need safer spaces to be held and heard.
This work is for you if…
What to Expect from Somatic Therapy Online
Each session is tailored to you. We begin with a gentle intake to understand your current challenges, and what you’d like support with. Together, we set an intention for the work and begin to explore your nervous system responses in a compassionate way.
In your first few sessions, we focus on building a sense of internal safety through creating a personal resource. This is something you can come back to if and when things might feel overwhelming.
From there, we begin to gently expand your capacity to stay with and process difficult sensations or emotions, using techniques drawn from Somatic Experiencing® such as pendulation, titration, and other resourcing practices.
A typical online session might include:
In-person sessions in Edinburgh may also incorporate massage, cupping, or shamanic healing, depending on your needs and preferences.

Shamanic healing supports deep energetic and emotional clearing by helping you reconnect with your inner power and guidance. Sessions may involve soul or power retrieval, intuitive messages, and often include Reiki to promote balance and ease.
These sessions are ideal if you’re feeling stuck, low on energy, or seeking spiritual clarity. Reiki helps calm the system, while shamanic work brings insight and empowerment.
Why It Works So Well with Somatic Therapy
Energy work opens the door to powerful shifts, but it’s somatic tools that help you ground and integrate them. That’s why combining these approaches can feel so supportive. This combination is all about balance, opening to energetic shifts while remaining anchored in your body.
What to Expect

FAQs
Somatic therapy is a body-based and trauma-informed approach that recognises how past experiences can be stored in the body, not just the mind. Unlike traditional talk therapy, which focuses mainly on mental processing, somatic work gently supports your body in releasing held tension and bringing balance back into the system.
I’m there to witness you, and help guide you back into your body. An in depth history is not required. The main focus is on how dysregulation has impacted the body and nervous system.
Absolutely not! Rather than diving into painful memories, we work slowly, gently, and with great care, allowing your system to unwind at its own pace. This approach honours your body’s innate wisdom and helps build a deeper sense of trust, presence, and resilience from within. It doesn’t require you to disclose anything or talk about your trauma in detail.
It’s recommended to have 4-6 sessions. This work is most effective when done over time so we can slowly work through the process.
Yes! I love running Somatic Therapy 1-1 online. It can make it more accessible and translates really well online.
Yes they complement each other so well! Energy healing and body-based healing go hand in hand. The more we open to spiritual or energetic realms, the more important it is to stay embodied and grounded. This is where somatic therapy comes in.
As I’ve been working in these spaces, I’ve been dismayed to see how many practitioners can encourage a very disembodied form of energy work. It’s of the utmost importance to me that energy work is balanced with somatic work.
Still have questions?
As a holistic and somatic therapist, my practice focuses on supporting individuals in their journey towards well-being by integrating mind-body approaches. My work is rooted in the understanding that our experiences, emotions, and past traumas are often held within the body, and by gently engaging with somatic awareness, we can facilitate profound healing and transformation.
What I Can Help With:
Nervous System Regulation: Supporting clients in developing greater capacity for self-regulation, reducing symptoms of chronic stress, anxiety, and overwhelm, and cultivating a sense of safety and calm within the body.
Trauma Recovery (Somatic-Focused): Guiding clients through somatic processes to gently release stored trauma in the body, helping to complete thwarted biological responses, and fostering resilience and integration. This involves working with the body's innate wisdom to process and move beyond traumatic experiences.
Chronic Illness Support (Somatic-Focused): Assisting individuals in exploring the body-mind connection in chronic illness, developing somatic resources to manage symptoms, reduce pain, and improve overall quality of life. This may involve addressing underlying stress, emotional patterns, and nervous system dysregulation that contribute to chronic conditions.
Neurodivergence Support (Somatic-Focused): Providing somatic tools and strategies to help neurodivergent individuals navigate sensory sensitivities, manage executive function challenges, improve interoception, and cultivate greater self-awareness and self-regulation.
Embodied Awareness and Self-Connection: Facilitating a deeper connection to the body's wisdom, intuition, and innate capacity for healing.
Stress Reduction and Resilience Building: Offering practical, body-based techniques to reduce stress, build resilience, and enhance overall well-being.
Emotional Processing (Somatic-Focused): Supporting clients in safely experiencing and processing emotions through body-centered awareness, rather than cognitive analysis.
What I Do Not Provide:
Talking Therapy/Psychotherapy: I am not a qualified talking therapist and my approach does not involve traditional cognitive-behavioral or psychoanalytic methods. While verbal processing may occur, the primary focus of the work is always brought back to the body and somatic experience.
Health Diagnosis or Medical Advice: I am not licensed to provide health diagnoses, medical advice, or prescribe any treatments. My services are complementary to medical care and should not be considered a substitute for professional medical or psychiatric treatment.
Crisis Intervention for Active Suicidality: I am unable to work with individuals who are actively suicidal or in acute mental health crisis. In such situations, it is crucial to seek immediate support from emergency services or a qualified mental health professional.
Primary Treatment for Severe Mental Health Issues: For individuals experiencing severe mental health conditions, engagement with my services would require a multidisciplinary approach and explicit approval from their existing healthcare team (e.g., psychiatrist, psychologist, GP). My role in these cases would be complementary and supportive, working in collaboration with other professionals.
